With two albums and numerous sold-out tours and concerts in Europe and the US, the band Mighty Oaks has achieved a lot in the eight years of its history. Now the trio based in Berlin is returning to its roots with a live acoustic set: “We want to interact with the people at our shows,” is the explanation given by Ian Hopper, Craig Saunders and Claudio Donzelli for their decision to do without all amplifiers. When it came to producing their latest EP, they also restricted themselves to the essentials that define Mighty Oaks: vocals, acoustic instruments and true stories. They recorded their new songs in a living room, just like they did with their first EP in 2010. The result is a collection of intimate and direct indie folk songs.
