Happy Birthday, PETZI! Thirty years ago, a handful of cultural actors founded PETZI. Today, the association unites over 200 concert venues and festivals across Switzerland, operates its own ticketing system, and drives pioneering initiatives forward.
But celebration alone is not enough: rising costs, gentrification, and changing audience habits present real challenges. PETZI is committed to finding sustainable solutions to ensure the future of live music.
One such solution could come from the United Kingdom: the Ticket Levy. Large concerts contribute to a fund that supports smaller grassroots structures. This system was developed by the Music Venue Trust, which has been advocating for live music venues in the UK since 2014. In a keynote talk, COO Beverley Whitrick will explain how the Ticket Levy works and how it could be implemented in Switzerland.
After the keynote, there will be space for questions and discussion. After all, a birthday isn’t celebrated alone.
This conference will be held in English.
