Pop
You’d hardly believe Peki Momés came into music by accident when listening to her debut album. The Turkish-German photographer was spontaneously handed a microphone by two friends in 2023, said “sure, why not?” — and stayed. That same openness and curiosity echoes through her first album Peki Momés (2025), where Anatolian funk, shimmering avant-pop and dream-soaked synthscapes merge. Her love for analogue art is audible in the flickering tape recordings, punchy drums and velvety lo-fi vocals. Mostly singing in Turkish about longing and new beginnings, she channels the dreamy nonchalance of bedroom-pop queen Clairo.
