Franka Frei is an author and journalist with a focus on reproductive rights and health. In 2020, she published her non-fiction book ‘Period is Political’, a highly acclaimed manifesto against the menstruation taboo, with Heyne Hardcore. This was followed in March 2023 by ‘Überfällig. Why Contraception is Men’s Business, Too’ (Goldmann). In addition to her work as a lecturer in Germany and abroad, Franka Frei works as a freelance journalist for radio, print and TV media and discusses politics in private in her podcast ‘Tabufrei’.
