Wieland Krämer studied sociology and political science in Marburg but never worked in the academic field. Based in Berlin, he has been organizing international tours with Powerline-Agency since the early 1990s. His roster includes acts such as The Notwist, Masha Qrella, and Motorpsycho. He founded the Flirt99 music publishing company, managed the Lassie Singers and Stereo Total – but he never intended to become part of the music business. As a bassist in several Hamburg punk and post-punk bands, he recorded a few albums and toured smaller and larger clubs – but he never considered himself a professional musician. He is a supporting member of the Refugee Council Berlin e.V. and plays basketball on Mondays.
