All winners of the Demotape Clinic at a glance!
The first time a Demotape Clinic (DTC) takes place is in 1999. As m4music History reports, "The organizers are caught off guard by the number of people who want their demo reviewed by the DTC jury. Instead of 30, around 300 bands show up."
In the early years, there were no "winners" - it was primarily about jury feedback. We continue to comb through the archives to find out in which year the first Winners were awarded. From 2006 we are sure: the CD compilation "The Best of Demotape Clinic" created at that time records the Winners. The first "Demo of the Year" was awarded in 2007.
