Award Show

FREE ENTRANCE

The best demos in five categories – Pop, Rock, Electronic, Lyrics & Beats and, for the first time, Out of Genre – each receive a “FONDATION SUISA Award” worth CHF 3,000 at the Award Show. The most promising newcomer among the winners also receives a CHF 5,000 prize for “Demo of the Year”. Prizes are also awarded for “Best Swiss Video Clip” and IndieSuisse “Album of the Year”.

More than just an awards ceremony – Emilie Zoé is receiving the IndieSuisse “Album of the Year” award for her self-produced album “Hello Future Me”, a collaboration with Louis Jucker, and playing a free concert after the show. This is Emilie Zoé’s first concert in German-speaking Switzerland accompanied by the “Choeur d’èlèves de Ton sur Ton” youth choir. There are also performances by Meimuna and Yet No Yokai.  Meimuna won “Demo of The Year” in 2017 and, by creating enchanting soundscapes, lies somewhere between Anglo-Saxon folk and French poetry. The Lucerne trio Yet No Yokai, winner of the Demotape Clinic 2020 in the Rock category, sound like krautrock at first, but further listening reveals a departure into a “more sombre thunder or post-apocalyptic wasteland, as rhythmic as war drums, as ethereal as a golden sunrise”.

Emilie Zoé’s one-off concert and the Award Show are open to the public. Entry is free.

In collaboration with Stiftung Phonoproduzierende, Swissperform und Merlin.
