The term open internet music unites different, genuinely digital styles and scenes. The sound is fast-paced, digital, glitched like a pop caricature and produced in DIY fashion. With an ambivalent relationship to the physical world, the artists play with gender identity and societal norms in this cyber space. They see artificiality, which they construct using pitch-shifted voices and avatars, as a natural extension of themselves. The panel provides an insight into the lives and working realities of internet musicians from Switzerland.
