Dave Okumu has been nominated for the British Mercury Prize with his band "The Invisible" and has collaborated as a producer and mentor with greats such as Amy Winehouse and Adele. Now: the second solo album by the Vienna-born Londoner. But Okumu is not entirely alone: the "7 Generations" are a wide variety of guest musicians, including soul singer Kwabs, rap newcomer Wesley Joseph and icon Grace Jones, who join him on the concept album "I Came From Love" to rummage through the intergenerational traumas of the Black Experience in four acts. Close, dark, important – and so good.
