Record a song, upload it to Spotify without any promotion, rack up nearly two million streams – sounds like a musician’s pipe dream, but that’s exactly what happened when Leila from Bern released her “Gun To My Head” last year. In fact, 2023 was an eventful year for her: she toured with “Jeans for Jesus”, for example, and held a signing with Herbert Grönemeyer’s record label. What has remained the same is Leila’s sad and beautiful songs, which are so pure, raw and honest that they will inevitably kick up your own melancholy.
